Harness cracks

Has anyone else been experiencing cracks on the Randall May (Yamaha) monoposto and biposto harnesses? I'm noticing cracks at the "Contour Hinge" where the upper bars are attached. Just wondering if anyone else is noticing the same issues.

My school has never had an issue with this. How tightly are the lugs and joints tightened?
