I've recently begun teaching a family friend's son to play percussion twice a week and its been going great! However I'm looking to switch from an essential elements book over to a mallet specific book as I did so with snare drum and got the Peters Elementary Snare Drum Studies.
Which Book would you guys recommend to teach a beginner with?

You might try Mark Wessels' book "A Fresh Approach to Mallets" or maybe even
the new Row-Loff book entitled "The Mallet Players Tool Box". Also, Garwood Whaley
has a book "Primary Handbook for Mallets".
