For now, I have created an example routine of how I would envision using these click tracks. Essentially you loop through the exercise with successively less and less clicks. At the beginning of each loop, you play along with the exercise mp3. Playing with the exercise mp3 is a great way to train your ears and increase your ability to play CLEAN.
Next up is quarter note clicks. This is probably the most common way people practice with a normal metronome.
Next is a rep with half note clicks, and finally a rep with whole note clicks. These 'sparse' clicks will really test your ability to keep time without the 'crutch' of quarter note clicks. I also find playing with the half note and whole note clicks provides a good opportunity to check your own sound quality - with so few clicks, you really have a chance to listen carefully to the sound of every note coming off the practice pad or drum.
