Old/new testament

Does the birth of Jesus render the laws of old testament invalid?

I have talked with many christians that told be this is the case. And yet, they refer back to the old testament during arguements.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I searched it and I didn't find it.

I would imagine that the Jewish contingency of the world would answer no...

and the rest of the world would think that both books are "just stories"

the question is moot
