I don't think that most people realize that this has been the entire mode of operation for Christianity, since the beginning. Every, single, last major advance in the science has been achieved in the teeth of the Christian regime. And then, after decades and centuries of (violently?) denying those advances on Biblical grounds, the Christian church has said, "Oh, yeah, we totally endorsed that stuff the whole time." They then radically re-interpret their scriptures to support the scientific advances that they previously fought so fervently against.

They fought Galileo. They fought Darwin. They fight stem cell research.

The s#it never ends.
