What if? There wouldn't be much we could do.

even though "keplar 22b" does exist, wtf does nasa expect us to do? Grow gills and travel 600 light years to a landless planet? right.

but in truth, what are the odds that some other planet developed sentient life? do you guys realize how infinitesimal the odds are that WE have gotten to the point we have?

Do you realize that the Universe is the closest thing to infinite that we know of? In fact, it might as well BE infinite.
Billions of planets, billions of stars in this galaxy, billions of galaxies in the Universe, the potential for more than one Universe (perhaps even billions?).
It's completely ignorant to think we're the only life out there.
It's almost as ignorant to think we're the only ones who have evolved intelligence.

That means, if you could travel even near the speed of light, it would still take over 600 years to reach something that is 600 light years from your current location. The time dilation you're mentioning won't affect (AFAIK) the time required to reach that distant point, only the relative time that passes for you compared to someone sitting back on earth. To you, a mere 600+ years will have elapsed by the time you get there - or rather your descendents get there. To folks back on earth, eons would have passed. I don't remember the approximate percentages that show the relative time dilation.
This is the reason we can't just fly over to the nearest planet. If you travel at the speed of light it would take about 7 or 8 minutes to reach the sun. Not to mention time dilation. That's the only thing we have standing in our way.
