Theme ideas for mallets

Recently for a school project I decided to wrap and design full art mallets that were themed, which is shown in the image attached. I have never seen anything similar and was wondering if I could get any ideas on new themes or ideas to incorporate in future projects to make more visually appealing mallets. Anything regarding materials, accessories, or basic designs would be really cool to hear or see.

I feel that the art and designs you would put on the mallets would be based on the show theme. I could see some really cool designs if you were to have a space themed show or something along the lines of technology, but I'm not sure how you could execute them

I totally agree, I've messed about with the ideas of lights in the cores similar to firesticks, or changing the material of the shafts to something like carbon fiber or acrylic. But I have to find out where to buy those kinds of things, so oh well. I did make a fully glow in the dark set of mallets that are painted with glow paint, and the yarn is special glow in the dark yarn that I found online.
