Snare audition suggestions?

Im auditioning for winter line in a couple weeks and I need a piece to use, but i cant find a good one. Any help?

Not sure this is a mallet percussion question, but whatevs...

What group are you auditioning for?

That group should have an audition packet which provides all the required music and the performance expectations.

Also, that group probably hosts pre-audition camps where you can meet the instructor(s), get familiar with the setting, and basically learn everything you need to know about auditioning.
Without a metronome its not drumming, its just hacking.

Fair enough.

FYI... I've been following your posts, and just putting it all together I think its best if you just go an talk with your instructors or teammates. There is nothing wrong with showing up and saying "hey guys... I want to do this but I'm a total newb, teach me what I need to know to be successful". In fact, they would probably prefer that to someone who read something on the internet and then acts like they know more than they do.

If you reach out to those people without any pretense, they will help you, and you will learn very quickly what is important and what is not.
Without a metronome its not drumming, its just hacking.
