Does anyone own, or have played, this piece? I really want to push myself with a more difficult Marimba piece for my District's solo and ensemble, but I don't want to go too far out of my league. I'm an intermediate player, not too advanced... I'm at a point where stuff like Ford's ''Montecristo'' is fairly simple for me, but I'm not about to go play ''Polaris'' or something. SO, what's your p[inion on the piece?

I'm that guy who says he'll try out for drum corps next year and never does.
But I'm totally gonna try to march Alliance this summer.

I've never attempted the piece myself, however a friend of mine took it to contest last year so I'd say I'm a least slightly familiar with it. Its a fairly difficult piece. It's rather long and would take a while to memorize but I would i reccomend trying to because once you no longer have to focus on reading the music it'll free up your mind a bit so you focus more on the dynamics and the over all expressiveness of the piece. It's pretty, but quickly becomes tedious and boring if you don't ever shake things up dynamically. I'd even go as far as to throw some rubato in there as well. But that's just my two cents. That's all I got
