Could you maybe transcribe SCV's marimba part this year? Possibly? Pretty please?

I'm that guy who says he'll try out for drum corps next year and never does.
But I'm totally gonna try to march Alliance this summer.

Not really a transcription but I thought it would be a good idea to post it here. This is the sheet music from the cadets learn the music video. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p8ng9i3mt4ua4 ... 0Music.pdf

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS THIS FINAL. I just wanted to bring this forum back from the dead. There are probably more mistakes in this than I know about, but it's a rough transcription of the marimba solo from Matrix's closer in 2013.

Mad props you guys for transcribing these. I can barely transcribe tenors, and you guys get 8 octaves haha. If you want I can make a section in the library for front ensemble music :D

I think in general your rhythms are right, but your notes in measure 6 are backwards unless I'm missing something. Should start C-E-C-E... etc because of how measure 5 ends. Also, the last two notes in measure 6 shouldn't be there. It should be a 9-let filled with six 16ths and a dotted eighth note.

Thanks for contributing so much, especially the 2014 transcriptions!

My bad. They must've changed it at some point. I was just going off the video from finals week that I posted above. It's possible that I'm wrong about the pitches (I still think I'm right), but the rhythm is CLEARLY different from what BrandonWolk transcribed in measure 6. In fact, I haven't found any videos from 2010 in which the marimbas play a full 9-let immediately before the "meat".

Most likely explanation is that you do indeed have the original score and that they played it as written early season before the videos I found. If that's the case, Brandon can you point me in the direction of the video you used to transcribe this? I want to learn this lick, and would love to try and figure out the stickings.

Thanks everyone! I'll try and contribute something once I finish the last of my indoor workload.

He has a quarter note triplet taking up a quarter note of time in the first measure. How is that right?

It could just be a glitch in the software, I don't think that warrants everything else as incorrect.

Oh yeah, he has that right, but the first measure is 4/4. That is weird.

Also I just want to add that the MCM 2011, 2009, and 2010 pieces posted here aren't transcriptions. They're copy paste jobs taken from the audition packet and should be removed immediately by the mods.

You have to pay for the audition packets typically, so that would make posting them a violation of the copyright on the work.
