Hey everyone, just got my Invader V3 a couple weeks ago and will be trying out for the WVU snareline in a month. So far, I love my pad. One problem, though - the logo on my pad is not a sticker, but bulges out from the head. From watching videos and reading about the V3, I thought it was supposed to be flat. This is probably the most nitpicky complaint possible, but could someone give me an explanation for this?

I had the pleasure of trying out all the offworld pads, Vic Firth pads, and prologix pads... In my opinion (which Im entitled to like everyone else) The best pad I tried is the PROLGIX graphix pad. It feels amazing, just like a cranked kevlar head. To me its the most real feel pad I've tried. The Invader pad would definitely come in second place.

nope. offworld had a prototype of their new laminate at their booth. it's gonna be an oval of actual carbon fiber you stick on an invader.

They're calling that little sticker dot they had at WGI carbon fiber? I checked it out at their booth, it's definitely not carbon fiber...it's like a soft plastic with a grid pattern.

Hmm, I don't think so, but in any case....what's the point of the carbon fiber if there's a laminate on it..?

Dead thread as of 18 days ago...

My life would be complete if Offworld made an Invader with a rubber rim (and maybe) blue Darkmatter.
Introducing the- Offworld Invader Neptune!

The hard plastic rim they use is durable but beats up my sticks and is too loud. Rubber rim would be nice. The Darkmatter thing is a little too much of a misnomer, but hey! Blue is a sexy color!

One complaint about the rim..shots sound exactly the same as just hitting it..I had a freshman that could play book on his Invader and it would sound fine..put him on a drum and he missed every single shot..it can allow you to form some funky attack angles that leave you with nothing but rim on a drum..but still sounds the same on there

No idea how that could be done though

Yea I had that same problem when I first got it. It takes a few days to distinguish between a rimshot and just hitting the rim. Eventually I just got what it felt like under my hands. I play this pad for over an hour every day and still have awful accuracy as far as shots go.

It is designed to fit in a 14" drum so no

Has anyone left the Invader in the sun? Some dumb chick left it in the sun when I let her borrow it at rehearsal and it is not shiny, kind of spongy, and dead. It doesn't ring at all anymore. I'm going to send it in to replace it, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

I think a tenor pad by Offworld would be pretty legit. I'm thinking about getting the v3 though pretty soon.
