The way they are made is completely different. It's more efficient to them this way.

It still feels great, and the rim is all one piece which makes it much more stronger.

Looking forward to v3. Ordering from here costs an extra $40. That's $105 even with the $15 discount.

You guys are so lucky to be in the US.

To anyone who pre-ordered the v3 for 49$, you will receive an tracking notification of your order (or something like that) and I think they ship using FedEx. Those who pre-ordered, the products are shipped Today (May 27) and depending on where you live, it may take 1-3 days U.S; 3-5 international.

I contacted Dave from Offworld about International and U.S. Shipping and this is what he told me (and maybe to some people who e-mailed him also).

I did try it. It's a geniously simple idea, but it didn't feel much better than it looked. :?

it feels the same as my friends v2 which is of course a good thing
the logo is black now so it's really hard to see, unlike the white logo on the v2s that scratch off

it's an inch bigger
and the rim is ballz loud

....I LOVE IT

So basically, it's almost the exact same as the previous model, save for a few minimal differences that can be considered trifling at best. LOL
NEW BOARD-APPROVED CODE: "Retard" and its variants are now replaced by "SCV." "Homosexual" and its variants, "Phantom." "Go kill yourself" and its variants, "Go watch Phantom Regiment."

buddy it's my favorite drum pad. If you own a v2 then i don't suggest that you spend the cash to buy the v3. However, if you are planning on buying a new pad then the v3 or even the slim pad :) will definately help you build those chops. If the v3 is out of your price range then the slim pad is the pad to get.
Shail seems to find the slim pad to be a great pad, so you should ask him questions about it if your interested in one.

sorry, i don't own a slim pad
but lets put it this way
i had my 14 inch pearl under my v3 and i wanted to see how similar they felt.
and i have to say that the v3 is as close as it gets, but it just gives a little less bounce

I'm wondering what Shail's response to this would be; the bottom side, to me, feels awfully similar to a Slimpad. :o

V3 is fantastic. Noticeably heavier that v2 and thicker too. Sounds about the same...feels about the same...cleaner finish with a more refined look, and it has a better fit on a drumhead.

Warning...I put it on a granite counter right after I got it this morning and played for a few minutes. It created such a vacuum seal that I bruised my fingertips trying to pry it off!
