Official "Brand X vs. Brand Y" Thread

Posted: Sun Feb 28, 2010 11:40 am

Ok guys. So I think this section is getting too cluttered with the "vs" threads. The main point of the review section is for reviews, not asking whether stick x is better than stick y. So I'm making this the official "Vs" thread. Talk about what drums you like more, what sticks are better, heads, hardware, all that stuff in this thread.

This way, the majority of posts will be legitimate reviews, not opinion threads.

I still say that Premier made some of the best sounding snares. The problem with Premier snares was that they were very fragile and a pain to maintain. But, if you got a good one and knew what you're doing, nothing sounded better.

Magic was always a Dynasty corps as far as I remember. I know the last year that Southwind was active they used Ludwig.

(Bad) High School Snares
Dynasty>Pearl>Yamaha>Anything else

Snares in any other situation
Pearl>Dynasty=Yamaha>The rest (I have no experience with them)

Tenors
Pearl>Dynasty>Yamaha

Basses
Pearl>Yamaha>Dynasty

Keyboards
Adams>Yamaha>Dynasty (Dynastys are SO heavy!)

Cymbals
I like both Sabian and Zildjian. I would take either.

Sticks
IP=Promark>VF

Heads
Remo. There is no other choice.
