I recently acquired a Pearl Championship Snare
This version:
http://www.wwbw.com/Pearl-Championship- ... ductDetail
It is used, and, although I am unsure for what it was used, is missing several parts. Namely,
Hoop guards
http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/ ... ccessories
and a carrier attachment point. That brings me to the point of this thread;
I was curious if anyone had ever used this lift assembly
http://www.lonestarpercussion.com/Stand ... embly.html
with a Championship snare.
Additionally, if the same lift assembly was compatible with this hardware?
http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/ ... rum-stands
Thanks

Mapex and Yamaha both use Randall May for their hardware so it should all be compatible.
Are you going to be using the snare on uneven footing? If you're not, save a few bucks and just get a regular snare stand.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. My school typically uses Dynasty Drums.
It's going to be mostly indoors, but the reason I asked (about that specific hardware) is that I may be able to acquire a used one from a friend for a much lower price.
What stand would you suggest otherwise?

Depending on your height, any concert snare or drumset snare stand will work fine.

Ah, I suppose the does make sense. Although, most of the stands I have are fairly wimpy. I'll give it a shot, though.
Also, do you happen to know if the Yamaha lift front would fit on a Pearl Snare? I have the opportunity to purchase a Randall May carrier made for the Yamaha lift. I am just a little worried that the spacing in the tensioning rods may be different; enough such that the lift front would not fit.

I may be remembering incorrectly, but I think yamahas have a Lug/tension rod directly in the center of the mounting assembly, whereas the pearls have the mounting assembly directly in the center of two rods. I would think it might not workHugh C wrote:Ah, I suppose the does make sense. Although, most of the stands I have are fairly wimpy. I'll give it a shot, though.

If you're talking about the part you mentioned in the first post, that should work in attaching to the posts. I seem to remember them having some spacing adjustability.

The lift assembly on a Yamaha is placed between two rods I think. The part I linked above seemed to indicate that.KJennings wrote:I may be remembering incorrectly, but I think yamahas have a Lug/tension rod directly in the center of the mounting assembly, whereas the pearls have the mounting assembly directly in the center of two rods.
