Grey. They rip less often, sound, and look better.

I believe the white hybrids are similar to a white max. Bright, dry, and hard. I'd go with the Grey Hybrids, they offer a great feel without sacrificing any sound quality. They can be cranked higher while still feeling a lot looser. I love them. Paired with an mx5, you've got a great sounding snare.

The Grey Hybrid and MX5 combo works extremely well on a 14x12 Pearl Championship maple. My drum has the inner carbon fiber ply (which doesn't the sound much with a single drum) and a maple shell.

Here's a sample of the Grey/MX5 combo with a slightly lower tuned top:

Here's a sample of the White Hybrid/MX5 combo with the top tuned to typical tension of current trends:

the new evans system blue snare head is a slightly softer than hybrid and sounds darker. I still like the hybrid's higher sound. The hybrid white crack so often. We had 4 hybrid whites on our school's pearl 14*12 and they all stretched in 4 months (not during the marching season!)
